All has been quiet around the Nokia brand for a long time, but now it’s back on the market. The Finnish company HMD Global has obtained the rights to the Nokia brand, staging a comeback at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with not just one but three new smart phone models as well as the renewed version of the cult classic, the Nokia 3310.
Nokia celebrates a comeback
Nokia, a market leader for many years, is back, presenting three new smart phones at this year’s Mobile World Congress: the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 as well as the cult Nokia 3310. The devices are well made, offer great value for money and are available with both an unchanged and the current version of Android.
The Nokia 6 offers a 5.5 inch IPS display with full HD resolution. The matt metal casing protects a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with eight cores, 3 Gbyte RAM and 32 Gbyte internal storage. At the front there is an 8 megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens, and at the back a 16 megapixel camera.
The slightly less expensive model Nokia 5 is a little smaller, with a 5.2 inch display. The screen displays 1280 x 720 pixels, and, like its big brother the Nokia 6, it features Gorilla Glass, rounded at the edges.
The cheapest of the three smart phones, the Nokia 3, features a 5 inch display, also with HD resolution. An 8 pixel camera is included at both the front and the back. The casing is made of plastic, the frame metal.
A classic returns
Nokia launched the first 3310 in the year 2000. It was small, virtually indestructible and, to top it all, cheap. A winning combination which appealed to a great many people. In Barcelona, HMD Global launched the revamped version of the push-button mobile phone. The classic device comes with a 2.4 inch full colour display, a physical keyboard and a long-life battery. It is slimmer and lighter than the original, but sill immediately recognizable with its classic Nokia ringtone.

We will support the marketing of the Nokia smart phones and the classic 3310 as a distribution partner in Germany, and intend showcasing them at our roadshows as well.
